Prayer Ministry

Jesus said, “Come to me, all you who are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Matt 11:28-30

Church of the Ascension is a worshipping community committed to prayer and we have many ways in which you can actively participate! Here are highlights:

Soul Care gatherings: Soul Care mornings are designed to enter the Lord’s presence in quietness and trust. We begin and end each gathering in silent prayer, and throughout the morning we leave plenty of space to listen and learn and rest in God. We take a slower pace as we actively listen and quietly meditate on Scripture. And if the weather is nice, we meet in the natural beauty of the courtyard (if not, we meet in the Hunt Rooms). You can look at announcements to see the date for the next Soul Care.

Praying Over Our Kids: We are SO grateful for all the (many!) children in our community. This prayer gathering meets online weekly to pray over the children, youth, and their leaders. You can request to join the group here.

Praying Over Our International Ministry: At Church of the Ascension we are blessed to have people from all over the world come through our doors each week. This prayer gathering meets online weekly to pray over our thriving International Ministry. You can request to join the group here.

Weekly Prayer Email: Throughout the course of a week, we receive prayer requests and thanksgivings from a variety of sources. Our team prays for those joys and needs as they are compiled into a confidential email entitled, “Praise & Prayer.” These emails provide a way of “rejoicing with those who rejoice” and of also “bearing one another’s burdens.” If you would like to receive these emails, you can request to join here.

More to Come! Keep an eye on the weekly announcements for more seasonal opportunities to engage in prayer with and for our community.
